David Morley was a survivor. Internet news reports indicate he survived a 1999 nail bombing of a gay club. Unfortunately, he was not so fortunate in 2004. The 37 year old man was attacked by a group of young people. The people who attacked Morley are believed to have attacked six people in a period of about 15 minutes. News stories give us the impression he was beaten and kicked. He had 40 bruises on his head and body, broken ribs and a ruptured spleen. There is some thought that the attack on David Morley might have been photgraphed by the killers. Toward the end of December, 2004 four teenagers had been charged.

News reports indicate the number of crimes against gay people in the London, United Kingdom area have increased in the year before David Morley was murdered. We gather the homophobic attacks rose by over 10% in the year.
