Wanda Alston Memorial Page

March 16, 2005 Wanda Alston's body was found in her home Washington DC home. She was murdered at age 45. Her body showed signs of multiple stab wounds.

Wanda Alston was a gay rights activist. News reports indicate she was serving as the mayor's cabinet as the director of the office of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered affairs.

According to the news, William Parrot has been charged with the murder. Prosecutors believe Parrot robbed Wanda Alston to support a drug habit. News articles read to date do not appear to support this being a hate crime.
