Fannyann Eddy was
raped and murdered during the night of September 28 and 29, 2004.
According to some news reports, she was raped by five men, stabbed and
her neck was broken.
Fannyann Eddy was an
African leader in the gay rights movement. She founded the Sierra Leone
Lesbian and Gay Association and made a submission on human rights to
the United Nations. Fannyann had a 9 year old son and is reported to
have been a loving mother.
News reports give one the
impression Fannyann could be considered to be a hero among human
groups. She worked for queer human rights even in the face of threats.
